Everyone's heart broke when we saw Starbucks on the Gibbons farm. Starbucks stayed in Alberta for recovery with the Wild Rose Equine Rescue Society and made a full recovery.

Apollo also arrived from Gibbons with a smaller hernia which was operated on. He had a mysterious possible neurological problem and passed away in his adopted home a little over a year later. RIP Apollo, we miss you little one

Mercedes, older feral mare, arrived very starved and in foal. She was adopted by her foster care home on the island and gave birth to a beautiful little filly named Marika.

Ally, weanling, was handled as soon as she arrived off the truck. The vet was summoned immediately for Ally and Tinkerbell. Ally had a joint pucture wound that was festering with infection. She was given shots of penicillen and the wound tended to night and day. She made a full recovery and is living happily in her adopted home today with 3 other Gibbons herd members.

Echo from Gibbons. Echo, a scruffy weanling arrived off the first truck as an orphan. She was adopted by a wonderful couple who adopted her. She is three years old and going for training this spring.

Brown colt, yearling. Was fostered up Island then returned. Was again adopted with a family who also took a lovely Belgianx yearling when he jumped into the trailer with her!

Angel. 2 yrs old. Arrived as a very skittish supposedly halter broke mare. She was attacked by a cougar in her adopted home and was relocated for treatment. As her attack was in the hind she was even more difficult to handle due to psychological issues. She was sent for handling by a coach/trainer and vet. Then was started under saddle and is a much quiter and completely sound horse today.

I don't think those horses moved from those rounds for a year, I remember having to order 12 rounds every three days..like feeding a herd of elephants..lol..but can you blame them, they just came off the trailer and went FOOD!

This is Abby from Gibbons. There is another photo with me trying to teach her to lead to load on the trailer in my profile pics. She was adopted and was under saddle then resold a month or so ago by the owner. There were three tri paints out of the herd, Wigwam, Abby and a little foal named Destiny, actually Destiny was a black and white, pinto and Ghost was an unusual grey and white. In this photo Olivia, O filly (in behind Abby), yearling was adopted by Doris Kangas, Dark horse equine Taxi several months and continues to receive training.

Third trailer load of the Gibbons herd following off loading.
